SHOES FOR KIDS

Dear Friends,
"Hello, Uncle Hami, I wish I could have a pair of shoes so that I could attend school. I am working hard to achieve my dream of becoming a builder, to construct homes for those who have no housing. However, my feet hurt so much walking barefoot.

"Grade 5 - Clement Philip
Can we save them from diseases by providing them with shoes?

Did you know that many of the children we work with at Life Coaching Ministries live in areas without adequate sanitation and proper hygiene? In most cases, they do not have adequate clothing, resources, or health coverage, which results in them becoming ill and struggling. In fact, many diseases and parasites enter the body because children do not wear shoes. Children suffer daily from pain and miss school as a result. We intend to provide within the next month 250 pairs of shoes to more than 250 children in Zapita village and homeless children in the surrounding area. Let me tell you something! For only $2, you can donate a pair of shoes to a child in need. It is our goal to raise more than $500 to provide these children with Crocs.

As a leader, I realized that by giving them this gift of shoes in their lives today, we can give them hope and make them smile. Your support will enable us to provide hope and a future for children like Clement. There is no doubt in my mind that more than 250 children will benefit from this project.
What can you do?I would like to raise a meager $500.00 to buy 250 pairs of rubber croc-like sandals. Yes, that means $2.00 buys a child a pair of shoes. These will be likely the first shoes they have ever owned. And you can be a part of this moment. $20.00...$50.00...or whatever you would like to donate would be appreciated by Life Coaching Ministries and would be an immense gift to me and the kids in Malawi. Please consider donating as little as $2 to provide one child with a pair of Crocs. Children will be able to attend school and remain safe from diseases by wearing these shoes or Crocs.Should I send shoes? To put it simply, no. Please donate instead, and we will ensure that as many people as possible receive footwear during the month of March. I am looking forward to showing you videos of the kids wearing their brand-new shoes soon.

A Time To Reap The Harvest

Ministries Logo

Dear Friend,

“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”-Galatians 6:9

It’s about time

My time is coming to an end here in the United States with the UrbanPromise International fellowship Program and that brings a bittersweet feeling knowing that I am about to miss you. On the other hand, it is a joy to head back to Malawi this coming June 29 to finally launch the ministry. I cannot wait to share all the good news with you, including photos and videos of the children in my program.

Look at what you have impacted – thank you!

I am grateful and encouraged for all the generosity you have shown to me and Life Coaching Ministries. For the past two years with the power and the love of God, we have put 16 homeless children in schools (10 in high school and 6 in elementary); we have fed 75 homeless and orphaned children; finally, we have housed 14 children in a temporary shelter. Praise God!!!
There is more to be done and we depend on your loving hearts and generosity. Know that you are making a huge impact on a child who has no hope as long as they are living orphaned or on the streets in Malawi.

About my school progress and graduation

I will be finishing my last course online this coming August, and with my graduation on December 17, I will be flying back into the country for the ceremony and fundraising opportunities too. Keep me in your prayers!!

Help us buy a vehicle

The journey of raising funds to make the ministry and my calling successful is very critical and in progress. Please consider supporting the purchase of a vehicle that will be used for transportation and office use. Funds will cover buying and shipping as well as paying for duty and taxes. I am planning to purchase an affordable, used Toyota car which will be easy to service in Malawi. Please consider helping towards this campaign.
Help us to raise $5,000.

.

With gratitude and much hope

I am thankful for the many incredible friendships I’ve made while in the U.S. Your compassion and support of our mission to provide hope and opportunities for street children in Lilongwe have inspired me to stay focused on God’s goal. And now the time has almost come to reap the harvest of changed lives.

Help us Raise Our Annual Budget

Meet Francis, one of the kids in our program. He has dreams, and he would like to share them with you today:

“I am from Blantyre, Malawi, in a village called Chitakale. But now I am living homeless as a street kid in Lilongwe which is five hours drive from my home.  I lost my parents at the age of 10.

Due to poverty at home, I was forced to go into the streets just to find food. I have lived here for three years, and the environment is not conducive to education. Here in the streets is where I started to attend the programs at Life Coaching Ministries that have been supporting me with my education.

“I am 14 years old. When I grow up, I would like to be a businessman. I believe with business, I will be able to help in the growth of my nation’s economy, and I will also be able to create jobs for other people. I like doing dishes and sweeping around the compound every morning. After that, I prepare myself for school. After school, I always try to make friends even though I know it is very hard for some to accept me because I’m living in the streets. It hurts me sometimes, but I don’t always mind them.

“I pray that God should guide me all the days of my life. I need school fees, school uniforms, school shoes, school bags, food, and anything that can help me to achieve greatness in my academics. My prayer is to be educated and that God will give me wisdom.”

Life Coaching Ministries – the non-profit that I am faithfully going to lead once I return to Malawi this June – is so grateful that you are helping us support street kids like Francis and make their dreams become realities.

As you know, we as a ministry have committed to our mission of supporting street kids and orphans -- to mentor them, educate them and discipline them, to give them hope, and build them into men and women who will realize the love of God in their lives. Being a street kid myself and knowing the desperation and despair of living in the streets of Lilongwe, there is nothing better than knowing that you have a heart for these children and that you support my goals.

What are my priorities when I return to Malawi in June?

1. Provide a Safe Home
for both boys and girls who are orphans and homeless. Initially, we will rent a building, providing physical shelter and the necessities of life.

2. Launch an After-School Program and Feeding Program to give children a supportive academic environment and nutrition for improved learning.

3. Start a Farming Project to help us grow food and raise animals so that we can sustain our programs in the long run. The primary expense is buying a piece of land.

4. Have the financial resources to support staff.

How can you help?

Please pray for our ministry. Consider getting involved by sharing your skills and talents, whatever they might be.
We are exceedingly grateful for your donations to date and for the financial support of UrbanPromise International. In the next several months, it is critical that we are ready to officially launch Life Coaching Ministries. Please consider financially supporting us to help raise the remaining $16,900
Your gift will be used to change so many lives of children by providing hope and transformation in Lilongwe, Malawi. Here are ways you can make your donation:
