| Malawi is facing its worst food crisis in a decade following severe floods and drought that ruined this year’s harvest for 80% of the population who are small-shareholder farmers. As a result, four out of every 10 children suffer from stunting and cognitive development. * In addition, the price of a bag of maize (corn) – the food staple – that was $10 last year has tripled to $30 this year. That means a lot of families could starve. |

| In my role as a leader, I have a sense of great urgency to solve this problem by producing our own food as soon as possible.We plan to buy land that we can own. Malawi has cheap land where an acre is only $600. If we purchase 10 acres, we'll have more than 400 bags of maize. Think of what that food will do for the kids and families we serve! My friend, I truly believe this is the right course of action!On this Giving Tuesday, we ask for your support to address this food emergency. Your donations can help us purchase property and seeds so we can produce our own food sources beginning this year. |
| Our belief is that Life Coaching Ministries, in response to hunger and poverty in Lilongwe, Malawi, will:Establish a farm for raising pigs, chickens, and goats.Grow Malawi's staple food, corn, as well as groundnuts, vegetables, and soya beans.Provide 500 children with healthy food that nourishes their bodies.The farm project is also part of our sustainability plan, as our ministry can generate revenue that will support our children in schools, pay for staff, and support long-term programming.Furthermore, this farming project will serve as a platform for our children to learn farming techniques as well as develop their social and life skills. Having this knowledge will enable them to become successful and responsible individuals in the future.Thank you for your donations and making a difference in the lives of children in Malawi. |
